The first grade students of the professional education school Prins van Oranje Diest are experimenting with the concept. In co-teaching, one teacher helps the students, while the other teacher is teaching. The students receive lessons in small groups, while the rest is making exercises. The advantage is that the students process the course material at their own pace. The teachers can turn to each other for advice.

Both Catholic and community education stand behind co-teaching. Here in Diest they want to extend it to General Secondary Education, to classes of approximately 30 students. We have to wait and see whether the concept will spread to other schools.
